Dredge McFarland
Active Service: 1967-2026
An illustrative painting project honoring the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dredge McFarland for a well-earned retirement after almost six decades of service. Commissioned in 1967, the McFarland is a deep-draft ocean-going hopper dredge that operated as a lifeline for maritime commerce. This work honors and celebrates the history of American workboats and the dedication of her civilian crew, who worked day and night keeping vital channels and waterways open and safe.
